The admissions process, in four steps

The admissions process, in four steps

Admissions at Monastic follows the same four steps across all six institutions — preschool through the two colleges — so the process is the same shape whether your child is starting at two and a half or applying for a bachelor’s programme. Here is what actually happens at each stage.

Step one: the enquiry

Everything starts with one enquiry — through the website form, a phone call, or WhatsApp. You do not need to know exactly which programme yet; the office will ask a few questions about your child’s age, current grade, and what you are looking for, and point you toward the right institution from there. This step is fast and does not commit you to anything.

Step two: eligibility and documents

Each institution has its own eligibility criteria — age for preschool, previous academic record for the school, SEE results for +2, and the relevant university’s entrance requirements for the two colleges. The office will tell you exactly what is needed for your situation rather than handing over a generic checklist that does not apply to your child’s stage.

Step three: interview or assessment

For most stages, this is a conversation, not a test to fear — the office wants to understand the child’s readiness and the family’s expectations, and to answer any questions directly. For the college-level programmes, this step follows the affiliating university’s own entrance process where one applies.

Step four: confirmation and fees

Once a place is confirmed, the office shares the current session’s fee structure directly. Fee figures are not published on the website as a fixed number, because they are set per session and the school would rather give you an accurate current figure than an old one that has since changed. Ask directly and you will get the number that actually applies to your child’s intake.

A few things worth knowing before you start

The new session begins in Baishakh, and the whole process — enquiry through confirmation — usually takes a matter of days once documents are in order, not weeks. Preschool and Spectrum Learning Center enquiries are accepted year-round, subject to space, rather than being tied to a single admissions window. And if you are unsure which of the six institutions is the right starting point, that uncertainty is a normal reason to start with step one — the enquiry — rather than something you need to have already solved.
